SPREE-2025: Scheme for Promoting Registration of Employers & Employees

A significant step to strengthen social security and simplify compliance — ESIC launches SPREE-2025 to expand coverage and reduce litigation.

Under SPREE-2025

Digital Registration
Register units & employees via ESIC Portal, Shram Suvidha, or MCA Portal.
Coverage From Declared Date
Registration valid from the date declared by the employer.
No Past Contribution/Benefit
No contribution or benefit for pre-registration period.
No Pre-Registration Inspections
No inspection or demand of past records for the pre-registration period.
Operational window: Scheme remains open till 31 December 2025. Newly registered employees receive ESI benefits from the date of registration.

How to Register Under SPREE-2025

  1. Choose a portal: ESIC Portal / Shram Suvidha Portal / MCA (Company Affairs) Portal.
  2. Enter establishment details and declare the coverage date.
  3. Add employees and complete digital onboarding.
  4. Submit and download acknowledgement; benefits start from registration date.

Who Must Register Under ESI?

As a general awareness note: under the ESI Act, factories, shops, commercial establishments, schools, clinics and hospitals employing 10 or more persons (20 in some jurisdictions) are typically required to register, subject to state notifications and wage thresholds.
