The ministry of labour is planning to introduce the four labour codes in staggered manner wherein Social Security Code and Code on Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions are expected to be implemented in first phase and Code on Wages and Code on Industrial Relations are expected to be implemented in the later phase.
The Code on Wages was passed by Parliament in 2019 whereas the Social Security Code, Code on Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions and Code on Industrial Relations were passed in the year 2020
The two codes which may come in from the next fiscal will be the Social Security Code and the Code on Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions. The idea is to implement Code, which have been pending for more than a year now, said people aware of the matter.
