Penalty under the Act: SEEPZ is a high security entry zone. Employees of all companies need to have permanent SEEPZ gate pass to gain entry inside SEEPZ (including the Custodian’s office, Bank, including Customs officials who police the SEEPZ complex).

Applicable to which State:  Santa Cruz Electronic Export Processing Zone (SEEPZ) was set up on 1st May, 1973 as uni-product EPZ exclusively for manufacture and export of electronic items in an area of 100 acres (which was later increase to 110 acres) of land leased through the Maharashtra Industrial Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC), Andheri (East), which over the years has become a land mark of Mumbai.

And in the current instance: Para01 of the Circular may be read as-

“In supersession of procedure set out in Circular No.04 dated23.05.2017, following comprehensive guidelines /procedure will come into force w.e.f. 13thOctober, 2023 in order to implement new Gatepass system “प्रVESH” in a phased manner: a. Units shall apply on or before 06th October, 2023 for all permanent Gatepass of employees and vehicles expiring by 30thSeptember, 2023, accordingly, the passes expired between 05th September to 30th September will be valid till 12th October, 2023 and

1. All passes of exiting Gatepass system which are valid till 31thOctober, 2023 shall have to apply before 20th October, 2023 in new system “प्रVESH” and
2. All other permanent passes having validity beyond 31st October,2023 in existing Gatepass system shall have to apply on or before 31thOctober and Old Passes will be discontinued after receiving the “प्रVESH” gate pass. Old Gatepasses with any validity will not be accepted after 30th November 2023 and the person will not be allowed to enter in SEEPZ, SEZ Premises. d. Daily gate-pass will be in issued by “प्रVESH” Gatepass system only from 13thOctober, 2023.
