The basic salary of central employees is decided only by the fitment factor. It is being told that if the fitment factor of central employees increases, then their minimum basic pay may increase from Rs 18,000 to Rs 26,000.
Allowances will increase

The fitment factor was decided in 2016
The central government had last increased the fitment factor in the year 2016. Then there was a substantial increase of Rs 6,000 in the minimum wage of the employees. With this, his basic pay was increased to Rs 18,000. This time it is expected that after increasing the fitment factor, the minimum basic pay will be Rs 26,000.
