‘Freedom2021’, an SMS-based helpline for PF recipients, has been introduced by the Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO).
PF recipients in the districts of Coimbatore, Tiruppur, and Nilgiris who wish to book their EPFO regional office visit here in advance can submit a message to 9220599205.
EPFBOOK <space> UAN/PF number/any digits and/or letters <space> date <space> time should be typed by the beneficiary.
Just 20 letters should be used for the intent and the date should be in the DD-MM-YYYY format. 9.15 a.m., 10.15 a.m., 11.15 a.m., 12.15 p.m., 1.15 p.m., 2.15 p.m., 3.15 p.m. and 4.15 p.m. are the available time slots. The time can be listed as 00:00 AM or PM05 by the beneficiary.
According to a press release, the goal is to make it easy for beneficiaries to enter the office after the pandemic. They can pick the date and time and even book a month in advance. SMS will be the validation reply. If the chosen slot is unused, the next available date and period are immediately assigned.
This service is only for UAN related activities. The complaints will be redressed by EPFiGMS. Per day, only a small number of visitors will be allowed and the user will send only one SMS each day from a single sim card. Saturdays and Sundays and holidays are not booked. When, due to a logistical error, the accommodation is canceled or the helpdesk is unable to attend to a guest, the recipient must go for a fresh booking.
For pension related enquiries, there is no need to book in advance.
