Penalty under the Act: Section 22 of the Minimum Wages Act, 1948 an employer who fails to provide minimum rates of wages to the employees or contravenes any rule or order made under Section 13 of the Act shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to six months or fine not less than five hundred rupees or both.

And in this instance: Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of section 5 of the Act ibid, the Governor, Himachal Pradesh is pleased to revise the minimum wages of the unskilled workers working in the above mentioned scheduled employment Rs. 375 per day or Rs. 11,250 per month w.e.f. 01-04-2023.
