Penalty under the Act: Section 22 of the Minimum Wages Act, 1948 an employer who fails to provide minimum rates of wages to the employees or contravenes any rule or order made under Section 13 of the Act shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to six months or fine not less than five hundred rupees or both.

And in this instance: The Government of Tripura has revised the Variable Dearness Allowance on the basis of 6 monthly average Consumer Price Index Numbers for the period commencing from 1/7/2022 and ending on 31/12/2022. The half-yearly average consumer price index is 121 points for different categories of workers engaged in the employment of private security guards in Tripura payable effective 1/4/2023 by the employers to the workers/employees employed in the private security guard category.
