Gujarat Labour Law Circular on Government Inspections – Labour Commissioner Gujarat
Per the circular dated February 20th, 2021, the Office of Labour Commissioner Gujarat has laid down that an inspection must be carried out to check the implementation of various labour laws in the state of Gujarat under their Gujarat Sustainable Development Goal 2020, since the Central Government and the State Government plan to ensure that no worker in the State of Gujarat is deprived of the benefits of various social security provisions provided for in the Labour Laws of India.

It has further been stated that special attention should be paid to complying with the provisions of Section 12. [1] When a government labour officer goes to any organization for the inspection, whether for the contribution of the employees employed by the organization or during the inspection of labour law under the State Employees State Insurance Act, the Employees Provident Fund is regularly deposited in the concerned office. It will be their responsibility to obtain the details and, in case the said contribution is not regularly deposited by the organization, the government official has been instructed to inform the concerned field officer of the State Insurance Corporation or the office of the Employees Provident Fund Organization and send a copy to the head office:
- Additional Labor Commissioner, Gujarat State Gandhinagar,
- Deputy Labor Commissioner, Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Vadodara, and Surat.
