Penalty under the Act: Any employer who fails to pay any amount of unpaid accumulations or fines realised from employees or any amount of the employer’s or, as the case may be employee’s contributions, within the period specified in a notice served on him under sub- section (1) of section 6-C, shall, on conviction, be punishable with imprisonment which may extend to six months or with fine which may extend to one thousand rupees or with both.
