Jharkhand – Deletion Related to Revision of Minimum Rates of Wages Under Suitable Provisions with Immediate Effect

Relating to which Act: The Minimum Wages Act 1948         

Penalty under the Act: (a) Pays to any employee less than the minimum rates of wages fixed for that employee’s class of work, or less than the amount due to him under the provisions of this Act or

(b) Contravenes any rule or order made under section 13 shall be punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to six months or with or with fine which may extend to five hundred rupees, or with both

Pertains to: Employees employed in scheduled employments

And in this instance : In view the order passed by the Hon’ble Supreme Court in Civil Appeal No.- 2539/2010 Hindustan Sanitary Ware & Industries versus State of Haryana on 29.04.2019 and after consultation with the Jharkhand Minimum Wages Advisory Board the provisions regarding service weightage mentioned in remarks column of the departmental notification no. 1880/1881 dated- 24.10.2019,notification number-1878/1879 dated-24.10.2019 and notification number-1468 dated-14.08.2015,notification number-1470 dated-14.08.2015 related to revision of minimum rates of wages under suitable provisions of Minimum Wages Act, 1948 are deleted with immediate effect.

  1. The provisions mentioned in the remaining parts of the said notifications will remain unchanged.
