In this instance, the Government of Karnataka has further to the Karnataka Labour welfare fund Act, 1965, amended this act and called it Karnataka Labour Welfare fund Amendment 2017 to make changes in the contribution amounts and by a press note dated 12th December 2022 has announced that compulsory contributions have to be paid by all factories, plantations, workshops, motor, omnibus services, charitable trusts, societies, ITBT firms, etc. and Karnataka Shops & Establishments employing 50 and above, @ Rs. 60/- total through online payment and that the last date of contribution will be 15/1/2023 and in case of failure, there will be penal charges of 12% in the first 3 months and 18% after the next 3 months.
