Penalty under the Act: Under Contract Labour: If any person contravenes any of the provisions of this Act or of any rules made there under for which no other penalty is elsewhere provided, he shall be punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to three months, or with fine which may extend to one thousand rupees, or with both.

Contract Labour (R&A) Act, 1970 (Principal Employer Registration) and registration of establishments employing Migrant Workmen under Inter-State Migrant Workmen (RECS) Act, 1979, henceforth will be provided though online mode only.
The services shall be availed though online mode only to eliminate the need to submit the applications physically, payment of fees for the services and trace their status in each stage. On approval, the final certificate can be downloaded from the online portal anytime.
This will come into force with immediate effect and present practice of issuing signed copy of such Certificate(s) is dispensed with immediate effect, except those already applied and under issue with this Office
