On May 16, the Indian parliament announced that Sikkim officially became a state of India. Sikkim is a state in India, which currently has 6 districts.

The State Government hereby declares 10/11/2022 (Thursday), which is the Poll Day for the General Panchayat Elections, 2022 as Paid Holiday for all voters of Gram Panchayats and Zilla Panchayats where the elections are being held. All the Educational Institutions and Commercial establishments located within the Gram Panchayat and Zilla Panchayat areas where elections are being held shall remain closed.
The electors of the Gram Panchayat Wards and Zilla Panchayat Territorial Constituencies, who are stationed and working outside these areas shall also be granted Paid Holiday on the production of voter cards to their Employer.
