Penalty under the Act: Monthly payment is required for registered employers. If any individual/company fails to do so, they would be liable to pay a 1% penalty per month on the due tax amount.

And in this instance: In exercise of the power conferred under rule 12 of the West Bengal State Tax on Professions, Trades, Callings, and Employment Rules, 1979 the last date of filing returns in Form – III for the period year ending 31st March 2023, is extended for electronic return from 31st May 2023 to 15th June 2023 and for paper return up to 22nd June 2023.
